I see that China is shutting down Beijing, among other places, which causes untold hardship and hobbles their economy.
The Chinese aren’t stupid. They’re well aware that COVID, especially the mild variants circulating now, is about as deadly as the seasonal flu. At least when contracted - we have no idea what the effect, if any, is, years out.
The Chinese also didn’t deploy any MRNA based shots.
And of course, Wuhan was a key development hub for COVID, so they have all the possible info on the bug.
China’s behavior over what looks like a seasonal flu is puzzling, and should have anyone with a brain asking one question: What do the Chinese know about COVID that we don’t, that has them willing to shut down their economy over it?
I've wondered this for awhile now.
I'm starting to agree with Zarayna that the lockdowns aren't Covid related, so much as for some unseen political purpose, bureaucratic inertia, or simply plain old face-saving.
With the CCP's love of authority and general Asian attitudes towards community over the individual, all three seem as likely as anything.
I know nothing and will share that with you.
Several possibilities:
(1) The lockdowns have nothing to do with Covid. They would be a political move to reinforce the message of a dangerous pathogen to the gullible of the world, demoralise the more knowledgeable and illustrate the power the Chinese leaders have over their serfs to their admiring friends in the WEF.
Second, the lockdowns will inevitably affect trade – most notably with the West who rely on China for manufactured goods and would have the greatest of difficulty in replacing such with their own skilled workers and plants. We may not even have the basic raw materials to do so.
(2) Internal Chinese politics. Too inscrutable for me to fathom.
(3) Slight possibility that the bio-weapon labs in Ukraine had perfected their bespoke ethnic bioweapons to target their targets in China and Russia.
Thanks for the opportunity to display my limitations.
