The mayor of Mazatlan, Mexico, issued a mandate wherein business were required to demand to see a proof of vaccination for any customers. Much like mayors all over the US are doing - which is probably where he got the idea to require proof of a shot that doesn’t confer immunity or stop contagion.
A week later, a Mexican judge suspended the order, ruling that it wasn’t lawful.
How sad is it when the Mexican court system has more integrity, and works more speedily, than that in the US?
Just a thought. I remember like yesterday when I said Mexico was becoming more like the States, and the States were becoming more like Mexico. But frankly I never expected to see it happen to this degree, this quickly.
Just found your Substack as a result of reading your book on retiring in Mexico. Grateful for your book and more grateful that you're an ally on this issue. Very frightening times. We hope to be Lake Chapala-bound very soon. Thanks again.
